Join Our Team: Barista (part-time)
The Magpie is looking for an experienced barista to start immediately!
About You
You are:
A confident, skilled barista who thrives both solo and in a tight-knit team in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment.
A dependable, collaborative problem-solver with hospitality in your DNA—someone who adds a spark to every interaction and detail.
Excited to build something meaningful from day one, shaping the experience at a rapidly growing coffee concept.
Tidy, organized, and detail-oriented.
What This Role Is
Not a traditional barista gig—some areas may feel challenging as we refine our processes and structure.
A collaborative, high-stakes startup environment where your ownership, accountability, and teamwork directly impact our success—no hand-holding, no safety nets, a decent amount of hustle required.
A contractor role: you’ll handle your own invoicing and admin (we move fast and need people who can keep up).
An opportunity to grow with us—your contributions today help build tomorrow.
What We Offer
$17.60/hr + tips, biweekly payment schedule
Up to 30 hours per week based on your availability (occasionally full-time to cover absences)
Complimentary drinks while on shift
Bakeshop treats to taste new items and help shape the menu
Occasional extras from our kitchen clients
A supportive, women-led environment working alongside up-and-coming and established food entrepreneurs. Learn more at The Magpie Incubator

“Baking helped me feel alive and inspired as I recovered from life after law. It’s how I reconnected with family and friends, and it provided me with a unique way to help others celebrate special occasions. Now, I'm dedicated to inspiring others to find joy through the power of baking.”

“Coffee isn't just what I serve—it's how I create moments that matter. Every grind adjustment, every pour, every conversation is crafted with purpose. Your morning story, your perfect cup—these aren't small things. They're the details that transform routine into ritual, and they'll always have my undivided attention.”
